Dipping a toe in bloggy waters…

I’ve just returned from the IABC international conference in Vancouver (followed by a few days in San Francisco to see my friends Cookie, Todd & David), and am sufficiently inspired by all the discussions on social networks and citizen journalism to at last overcome my resistance and start a blog of my own.  I’m making no promises about how often I’ll post, and certainly can’t guarantee I’ll have anything to say that is worth reading (but that doesn’t seem to be a requirement in the blogosphere, does it?), but I’m ready to five it a go.

I’ll start by saying thanks to all my IABC friends at the conference, for the overwhelming encouragement for my new business venture.  What a great “coming out party” for a new business!  People were so generous with business advice, leads and ideas.  Eric Bergman, who writes the IABC Media Relations Commons blog, took time out of his conference schedule to have lunch with me, and has written about SpokesComm.  I’m looking forward to any discussion that sparks.  Thanks for the plug, Eric!
